4 Seasons Property Maintenance
Lawn Aeration / Turf Aerating
How can you tell if your commercial or residential lawn needs to be aerated?
If you detect a thatch layer of more than one-half inch, aeration for your turf will be beneficial to help break down the excess thatch. It's a good practice every other year or so to maintain optimum lawn health. Grass clippings, leaves, mowing, and all the other action your lawn sees, adds to the compaction of the soil and accumulation of excess thatch.
To be sure you need aerating service, you can pull core samples to check thatch depth and compaction layers. Take a sample of at least three inch plugs to get an accurate assessment of your situation. But we'd be happy to do that for you as well. If you have us out for any other service just have us take a look. We'll show you a sample and let you know if your lawn and turf could benefit from a good aerating or not.

Power Raking / De-Thatching
We use a Gravely Power Broom to do our power raking / de-thatching. It's great to do as part of your Spring Cleanup. It gets all the debris and compacted thatch up from your lawn. A little thatch is good, but if you have more than half an inch, you may want to think about having us come out to power rake / broom / de-thatch.
Technically, there are different equipment used to power rake, and different equipment used to de-thatch. But we're all going for a good end result - which is getting up excess thatch from your lawn. And that's what we use our power broom for.
If you want a healthy lawn that's lush, green, and weed-free, give us a call, and we can come out to evaluate your lawn situation. There are many different elements and ingredients to a healthy and great looking lawn. We may recommend a few things to get it kick-started and started down the right path. And then, a consistent maintenance schedule to keep it looking fantastic.
